My name is Marla, and I live in Northern Kentucky, near Cincinnati, Ohio. I found this amazing piece last month (Nov. 2016), along with HUNDREDS more rock art & tool specimens (& still have hundreds more to get out of the ground). It is the ONLY one I found so far that has plants/roots, twigs, & what appears to be HUMAN HAIR all incorporated deep into it! The hairs are VERY fine in the pics and a little hard to see, but you can. It's really a one of a kind! I haven't found any other artifact on the web yet with these inclusions, and that is as detailed as this polymorphic rock art specimen. If you know of any, or about these kind of artifacts, PLEASE COMMENT as I need more education!! I have been unsuccessful in getting any expert to look at these photos for some reason, so ALL opinions & comments are welcome, and encouraged! I could use some help with this one....thank you for looking!!
NOTE: Before learning Ancient Indians made these type of artifacts, I actually scrubbed this piece with a vegetable brush thinking it was just rock or fossil. So unfortunately, much of the outside dirt is gone (I know better for next time!).
HOWEVER, by doing this, I actually exposed the images that were covered.....and can GUARANTEE that every twig, root, piece of plant matter, & hair are all firmly embedded into the piece......and many certainly appear to be deliberately placed where they are at.
