Hello All!
My name is Marla, and I live in Northern Kentucky, near Cincinnati, Ohio. I found this amazing piece last month (Nov. 2016), along with HUNDREDS more rock art & tool specimens (& still have hundreds more to get out of the ground).  It is the ONLY one I found so far that has plants/roots, twigs, & what appears to be HUMAN HAIR all incorporated deep into it! The hairs are VERY fine in the pics and a little hard to see, but you can. It's really a one of a kind! I haven't found any other artifact on the web yet with these inclusions, and that is as detailed as this polymorphic rock art specimen. If you know of any, or about these kind of artifacts, PLEASE COMMENT as I need more education!! I have been unsuccessful in getting any expert to look at these photos for some reason, so ALL opinions & comments are welcome, and encouraged! I could use some help with this one....thank you for looking!!

NOTE: Before learning Ancient Indians made these type of artifacts, I actually scrubbed this piece with a vegetable brush thinking it was just rock or fossil. So unfortunately, much of the outside dirt is gone (I know better for next time!).
HOWEVER, by doing this, I actually exposed the images that were covered.....and can GUARANTEE that every twig, root, piece of plant matter, & hair are all firmly embedded into the piece......and many certainly appear to be deliberately placed where they are at. Check out what certainly appears to me to be a CATFISH below, among other images you will see!

quite undeniable....

  1. Wow that is so cool, ive been collecting in my property in middle Tennessee for about 3 years and ive found some of the most interesting stones ive ever seen and just found what looks like a hand carved statue of jesus. It's only neck up and fits in the palm of your hand it looks identical to the way the head on the cross turns slightly to the right and down some folks say it could have been made by a person that seen jesus nailed to the cross. So many unanswered questions but we have to keep searching for the truth. Keep up the great work that you do and if your ever in middle Tennessee e-mail me @ terryshelton07@gmail.com let me know your coming and I'll show you my collection and even do some digging on my property and trust me you dont have to dig just scrape off top and collect artifacts. Hope to hear from you and have a wonderful day.

  2. I have scraped, cut, snd unfortunately destroyed some of my “rocks” trying to figure out how to view the images. Some are layered. Some only visible when wet. Some are soapstone that oxidizes after exposing the detailed carvings making the art invisible again.
I have found real snakeskin used on a snakes head effigy and found the materials used to manufacture or assemble more intricate “stones”. I contacted the State Museum and the interim Dean at a local University (he is an archeologist) and both had zero interest about the site that has thousands upon thousands of artifacts. A real shame and very disrespectful to the people that made these! Keep up the good work and maybe one day they will be recognized!!

  5. Hey Marla, I have been an artifact hunter for over 40 years. About 7 years ago i moved to a rent house after my divorce and after the first rain, I knew the house was on a site like none I have ever seen. Just a few blocks away and down the hill, there was a country park with 300 acres. What I found was nothing short of a miracle. Right there under visitors feet and on the playground, there were artifacts so thick that very little dirt or burnt rock was visible. I had hunted artifacts in Texas all my life and all were of the archaic or woodland periods (approx 4000 yrs ago). It took me a couple of years of going there before I was able to determine the age of the site. It was one of 14 sites found in the 1930s by UT but they did not investigate them. There are hand written notes by the archaeologists that were never typed or published. I moved about 20 miles away 2 yrs ago and the first thing I did was look for a place where I could go hiking nearby. I stumbled on a property being developed and immediately knew it was the same as the one I had lived near before. Both sites are considered prehistoric or people around here call it pre clovis. First people to live here. I have confirmed both sites as being from 16,000 to 20,000 yrs ago through carbon dating that I had a lab determine. Both sites have several things in common. All the rocks have been heat treated. Many of the tools at both sites are formed from one inch slabs of chert, flint, or other rocks. Many have been worked on 6 sides. Almost all tools have at least one animal figure on them or they are in the shape of an animal. A majority are a bird head with a slight crest on top. There are owls, sloths, wolves, horses, camels, and mammoths. These drawings are like no other I have found or researched. But they are all the same shape or form. Some rocks have the outline of an arrowhead on them (all the same style). In the past two years, the development has progressed and now it is only a matter of months before there will be houses covering the whole site which is one of the largest I have seen or that has been documented. The burnt rock middens are huge with one continuing for a half a mile before there is a break. I would love to talk to you about this. As soon as I opened your pictures, it was like looking at my collection. i hqve some pretty weird pieces which I think you can relate. The site is also loaded with fossils, crystals, agate, chalcedony and a few other rock types not typically found in this area. Feel free to email me at becky.hogge@hotmail.com.
